Mr. Hays Memo points 1. Please update the stability analysis to include surcharge loads from structures, roads (Monaco Street), gas well facili- ties, topsoil stockpiles and any other appropriate loads. See Deere and Ault's revised Geotechnical Analysis. 2. Please clarify if the 200 foot offset from the City of Thorn- ton Reservoir slurry wall if from the centerline of the slurry wall, eastern toe of the slurry wall embankment or other refer- ence point. Please update and mining and reclamation plan maps accordingly. No mining will take place within 200 feet of the eastern most point on, any part of the slurry wall or dam structure owned by the City of Thornton. The existing Mining Plan Map shows that but the scale is such that a couple of feet here or there, is not decipher- able. 3. The Applicant did not specify an offset and mining slope for the north and east side of Phase 1. Please provide the proposed Phase 1 north and east side offset and mining slope. Mining in Phase 1 will begin 10 feet inside the slurry wall on the north and east sides. A '/z to 1 working face will be used. 4. The Applicant did not specify an offset and mining slope for the ,Test side of Phase 2. Please provide the proposed Phase 2 west side offset and mining slope. Mining in Phase 2 will begin 10 feet inside the slurry wall along the west side. A' /z to 1 working face will be used. 5. Please update the Geotechnical Stability Exhibit for the north, east and south sides of the mine to include the proposed slurry wall and anticipated hydrostatic level. Deere and Ault is in the process of revising the Geotechnical Analysis to cover all sides of the mine and to establish the proper mining setbacks. 6. The Applicant did not provide a typical soil profile descrip- tion or illustration. Please provide a typical soil,profile for the stability analyses.
