2.05.6(6) SUBSIDENCE MONITORING. SUBSIDENCE SURVEY. AND SUBSIDENCE CONTROL PLAN
These sections present the necessary subsidence information required by the CMLRD for MCM's Williams Fork
Mines. An inventory of all structures and renewable resource lands in the permit area has been performed, and a
determination of material damage or diminution of use for areas of planned mining has been incorporated herewith. A
subsidence control plan and a limited subsidence monitoring program are presented for the appropriate mining areas.
An inventory of all structures and renewable resource lands is presented on Table 78, Inventory of Structures and
Renewable Resource Lands. The locations of all structures and renewable resource lands are shown graphically on
the Structures and Renewable Resources Map (Map 25).
Structures
The following structures have been identified within and adjacent to the Permit Area:
• Mine Facilities (not undermined)
• Mine Facilities (presently undermined)
• Mine Facilities (to be undermined)
• Private Residences (houses)
• Oil Pipeline
• County Road 107
• State Highway 13
• Railroad
• Irrigation Ditches
Mine Facilities (Not Undermined). The mine facilities located at or adjacent to the No. 5, No. 5A, and No. 9 portals
have not been undermined. The structures in the these areas include mine portals, bathhouses, ventilation fans,
storage buildings, and utilities as well as coal transport, preparation, and storage facilities. All mine facilities have
been discussed in detail in Section 2.05.3, Operation Plan.
Mine Facilities (Presently Undermined). The mine facilities within the permit area that are presently undermined
include mine access roads, powerlines, water lines, railroad spur, coal storage silo, and coal conveying system. These
facilities are located over development entries (mains and sub - mains) which are designed to remain stable for the life
of the mine. These facilities have been protected against subsidence damage by assuring that sufficient coal was left
in -place to prevent or minimize subsidence in the area. In addition, areas of Trapper Mining, Inc.'s surface mining
operation which have been previously mined and reclaimed have been partially undermined. The Trapper Mining
reclaimed areas that have been undermined including reclaimed mine areas, two topsoil stockpiles, an access road
leading to the topsoil stockpiles, and several small stock ponds were undermined without any material damage.
Mine Facilities (To Be Undermined). The mine facilities under which proposed mining will be conducted include
MCM's underground F -Seam and P -Seam workings. Proposed mining will undermine underground mine workings in
both the No. 5 and No. 9 Mines, however, none of the No. 9 Mine workings have been undermined to date, so
potential impacts would be limited to any future mining. The MCM surface facilities that will be undermined include
Sedimentation Ponds SH -Pl, SH -P2 and the associated Old Shop and storage area (reclaimed in 2008), a rock dust
tank, the contractor staging area, the Storage and wood shop, and the Okie Plaza Well.
Private Residences (Houses). There are three -(3) private residences located within the Permit Area. They are located
as follows: (1) NEA of the SEA of Section 30, T6N, R91 W, (2) SEA of the NEA of Section 29, T6N, R91W, and
(3) W '/2 of the W '/z of Section 29, T6N, R91 W. These structures are located outside of the angle of draw calculated
for both historical and potential future mining. Therefore, the structures are protected from any subsidence - induced
damage.
TR14 -36 2.05 -48 Revised 03/20/14
