Susan Burgmaier -6- November 18, 2014
construction it would not be considered supplemental and design
information will also be required.
BRL: It is unknown when the ADS drain was installed. The purpose of the
pipe is to drain seep S -8. It was not installed in support of mine facilities and
it is not part of the sedimentation control plan. Runoff from the surrounding
areas will either be routed to Ditch C -1, or be treated by a waddle on the light
use road.
Half culvert on the east outslope of the office bench, draining to Ditch C-
17- BRL indicated that this culvert is not part of the sedimentation control
plan. Please provide a description of the half culvert on the east
outslope of the office bench, draining to Ditch C -17 including its
intended function and the source and destination of water routed
through the structure. If the culvert has been installed in support of
mine facility or road construction it would not be considered
supplemental and design information will also be required.
BRL: The installation of the half culvert is supplemental. It is not designed,
but installed at a low spot in the parking lot. The flow from the parking lot
office is generally directed to D -C17 or D -C24, with a very small portion being
passed through the half culvert.
Item Resolved.
Culvert perpendicular to Culverts J11 and J12, parallel to the Fire
Mountain Canal and running under the Gob Pile #3 haul road —BRL
indicated that this culvert was not part of the Bowie No. 2 sediment control
plan. Please indicate whether the Culvert perpendicular to Culverts
J11 and J12, parallel to the Fire Mountain Canal and running under
the Gob Pile #3 haul road (conveying the Deer Trail Ditch) was
installed to facilitate construction of the Gob Pile #3 haul road. If the
culvert was installed for the haul road, please submit design
information for the culvert.
BRL: It is unknown exactly when this culvert was installed, but it was not installed to
facilitate construction of the gob pile #3 haul road. Looking back at old permit maps,
this culvert was installed prior to construction of the gob pile haul road, it is used to
convey flow in the deer trail ditch only. Therefore a design is not required.
10. Item Resolved.
11. Item Resolved.
12. Item Resolved.
