October 17, 2014 C- 1981 - 033 /Bear Mine SLB <br />across the North Fork of the Gunnison River continues to deteriorate, and the abutments to the bridge are eroding, <br />exposing the bridge support beams. <br />REVEGETATION Rule 4.15 Vegetative Cover; Timing: <br />The facilities area vegetation in the vicinity of the treatment pond is very sparse and weedy, consisting mainly of <br />cheatgrass. The vegetation on the flood control berm and north faces of the pond embankments is adequate to <br />control erosion and exhibits few weeds. Rabbitbrush is dominant along the flood control berm. <br />Tamarisk plants are thriving at the Edwards Portal spring, treatment pond, and along the North Fork of the <br />Gunnison River where the treatment pond is discharged. <br />Following the inspection, the Division was informed that the AML contractor treated weeds on the site <br />(cheatgrass, tamarisk, and whirl milkweed) on October 18, 2014. <br />ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS /COMPLIANCE <br />No enforcement actions were initiated as a result of this inspection, nor are any pending. <br />PHOTOGRAPHS <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 3 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 1 <br />Page 3 of 5 <br />
