October 15, 2014 C-1982-056/Foidel Creek Mine JDM <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Railway Culvert Cleanout <br /> <br />- Houndstoungue, Thistle, and yellow toadflax were observed at the FCB area near the substation. Evidence of <br />weed management was observed in the locations noted. <br />- The third culvert on the barricade chamber access road on the north side is down-cutting at the outlet. This will <br />need to be repaired or reinforced with a material suitable to prevent erosion at the outlet. This item has been <br />addressed. <br /> <br />Silt Catchment Material Repair <br /> <br />Ongoing items noted from previous inspections: <br />- The spillway of the 6NM Sediment Pond has lost its approved trapezoidal design and should be repaired to the <br />design specifications. According to Exhibit 8X of the permit the spillway should be of trapezoidal design with a <br />12 foot bottom width and 2:1 side slopes. <br />- Non-coal waste in the form of wooden chalk blocks were observed throughout the edges of the Area 1 Pit and at <br />the inlet of the culvert discharging to Pond D. All non-coal waste should be disposed of appropriately. <br />- <br />D embankment.
