Compliance With Mine Plan-Support Facilities Not On-site <br />RNA <br />-Other(Maps and Plans)-Special Categories Of Mining <br />YR <br />-Processing Waste-Topsoil <br />COMMENTS <br />A complete inspection of the Bowie No. 1 Mine was conducted by Marcia Talvitie and Dan <br />Hernandez, both of the Division, beginning on Wednesday, October15, 2014. Skies were lightly <br />overcast, and the temperature reached into the mid-70s. <br />We reported tothe mine’s office, located at the Bowie No. 2 Mine surface facilities, and met <br />with Basil Bear. He was able to join us for a portion of the field inspection –at the upper <br />reaches of the reclaimed East Mine.I conducted a close-out meetingwith Mr. Bear on the <br />th <br />morning of October 16. <br />PERMITTING UPDATE: <br />SL-05: <br />Ph. I (0.45 Ac.) and Ph. II (24.0 Ac.) –West Mine and Timber Storage (R.O.M.) Area <br />Application materials weresubmitted on 23-Sep-2014; Proof of Publication from Delta <br />County Independentwas received on 20-October. Completeness will be determined <br />within 10 days of receipt of POP. The bond release inspection has beenscheduled for <br />28-Oct-2014. BLM and possibly WQCD will be in attendance. <br />MR-134: <br />Update Surface and Subsurface Ownership <br />The Division approved and issued this minor revision on 02-Oct-2014. <br />MAPS AND PLANS –Rule 2.10 <br />Section 2.10.3(d) of approved Volume 7 (Paonia Loadout) states that Map 1 depicts and <br />identifies the current use of all buildings located within 1000 feet of the permit area. During <br />the inspection, we noted certain structures that do not appear on Map1 (or 7). These include <br />the house located near the NE abutment of the bridge spanning the NorthFork (Parcel 3); the <br />house located between parcels 45 and 81 (on Parcel “0”?); and a house on Parcel 19, adjacent <br />Please submit <br />to the Grange Road. (There may also be other structures that are not shown.) <br />a revision application to update Map 1 and Map 7 to depict and identify the usages of all <br />strucures within 1000 feet of the Loadout permit area. <br />The scale on Map 7 (Volume 7) is given as 1” = 500’. It appears that the scale is closer to 1” <br />= 200’.
