I, Jared Ebert of the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety conducted the inspection. Mr.
Brian Watterson with Moffat County Mining, LLC (MCM) accompanied me during the inspection. The weather
was partly cloudy to mostly sunny during the inspection.
AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS — Rule 5.02.4(1):
The records were checked at the mine office; see the end of this report for details.
EXCESS SPOIL and DEVELOPMENT WASTE — Rule 4.09
Placement; Drainage Control; Surface Stabilization:
The waste disposal site appeared stable and vegetated. Small bare areas exist near the southern end of the disposal
area.
The No. 9 refuse pile was vegetated and stable.
The solid waste disposal area appears to have not been used in some time, however no problems were observed.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05
Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10;
Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13;
Drainage — Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18:
The sediment ponds were observed during the inspection. The embankments of the ponds were vegetated and stable, however
a few rodent holes were observed that will need to be monitored and filled. During the previous DRMS inspection
it was noted that many of the emergency spillways have shrubs growing in them impeding their functionality.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 0
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2
Page 2 of 7
