• §2.06 REQUIREMENTS FOR PERMITS FOR SPECIAL CATEGORIES OF MINING <br />2.06.8 SURFACE COAL MINING AND RECLAMATION OPERATIONS ON <br />AREAS, OR ADJACENT TO AREAS, INCLUDING ALLUVIAL VALLEY <br />FLOORS. <br />(1) The operator has conducted detailed alluvial valley floor reconnaissances <br />and requests the Division make a negative determination for the permit <br />area, excluding the train loadout facilities (refer to the Alluvial Valley Floor <br />Appendix in this volume). <br />(2) Activities will be conducted under a Division issued permit <br />(3) Alluvial Valley Floor Determination. <br />(a) Based upon the geomorphology of the permit area, the operator <br />initiated a detailed investigation to determine whether or not the <br />possibility of alluvial valley floor areas exist within or adjacent to the <br />permit area. Refer to Alluvial Valley Floor Exhibit 9 in this volume. <br />(b) The results of detailed field investigations encompassing geologic, <br />hydrologic, land use, soils, and vegetation, are presented in the <br />Alluvial Valley Floor Exhibit in in this volume. The only location <br />within or adjacent to the permit boundaries fulfilling the <br />requirements of an alluvial valley floor is the train loadout facilities <br />in the North Fork of the Gunnison River Valley.
