§2.05 APPLICATION FOR PERMIT FOR SURFACE OR UNDERGROUND MINING
ACTIVITIES -- MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR OPERATION AND RECLAMATION
PLANS.
9. Train Loadout elevating conveyor (R-4)
The 1,300 foot 72 inch loadout elevating conveyor
carries gravity fed coal from the coal silos to a hopper
located in the train loadout for immediate loading into
rail cars. The gravity fed coal is fed to this belt using
vibratory feeders located under the coal silos. The
electrically driven belt is powered at the ground level
with a gravity tensioning system located at ground level
near the drive system. This train loadout elevating
conveyor operates under the limitations of the
Colorado Department of Health and Environment
Construction Permit 11 DL252-10.
10. Train Loadout
The train loadout, aproximately 45 feet long by 48 feet
wide and 70 feet tall is used to load 10,000 ton unit
trains. Coal is delivered to a 250 ton surge bin via the
Train Loadout elevating conveyor. This surge bin is
used to flood load rail cars via a chute with a knife
gate. The chute can be raised and lowered to help
with dust control. A portion of the coal stream is
crushed and bagged for chemical analysis. The
construction of the Train Loadout is structural steel
members partially sheathed in steel siding with floors
made of grate steel and deck plating. It is roofed with
steel roofing. This train loadout operates under the
limitations of the Colorado Department of Health and
Environment Construction Permit 11 DL252-10.
11. Shop
A small shop and warehouse, approximately 100 feet
long by 50 feet wide and 30 feet tall is used to maintain
ancillary machinery used around the train loadout and
for machinery used for snow removal. This building is
TR-020 2.05 - 9 3/01
