The Squaw Gulch substation and distribution system(as permitted)are behind
schedule. This additional 1500' line was not included in MLE-2,but is now needed to maintain our
construction schedule. After construction of the originally permitted line this one will provide an alternate
emergency power source.
The new line starts at P1 which is a pole on the existing Mill circuit on the edge of Phase 4 VLF (see
attached map in DRMS application). The poles contour down Guyot Hill, past the Chickenhawk Mine,
onto the old railroad grade and down to the site of the Security building for ADR2. The rest of the poles
and line would be on the pad side of the toe berm over to the ADR2 building.
All the land is owned by CC&V on the north side of State Highway 67. The earthworks will utilize
existing roads with some minor pioneering for pole pads. A narrow corridor of trees would need to be
removed toward the bottom.
CC&V has reviewed the proposed project against CCMOD 8.A and B to determine if a No Impact
Technical Revision is appropriate:
a. The proposed power line is all on land permitted for activities at CC&V.
b. All portions of the power are within the MLE-2 Permit boundary.
Page 1
