All located along the westerly side of the permit boundary, as
shown on "Exhibit E" Sheet 2 of 2, Revised Reclamation Plan Map, dated September 29, 2014.
The remainder of the Permit Boundary area lying outside of the mining limits is undisturbed and
is not a part of this Reclamation application.
Luke the Duke, LLC is proposing to reclaim the two existing pits (approximately 11.5 feet deep),
three stockpile areas and the haul road to General Agricultural. Originally it was proposed that the
pits would be plated with approximately 8"-12" of overburden and then covered with the
stockpiled topsoil and sculptured into the existing terrain at a 3H: IV slope. Given the existing soil
types of the affected land the final reclamation will not benefit from Overburden replacement and
the overburden was used for landscape projects within Avery Ranch, Horseman's Park, Cross
Creek Ranch, the Highlands at Cross Creek Ranch and the Preserve. The applicant is now
proposing to scrape the site, apply 6" of topsoil and sculpture into the existing terrain at a 3H: IV
slope. The applicant has enough top soil stockpiled to cover the site at a 6" depth without having
to import additional soil. No other slopes were disturbed during the mining process.
Tilling will be 6" deep with a disc harrow. To stabilize the non-compacted top soil a Dry land
Pasture blend seed mixture together with a blend of Rubber Rabbit brush and Winter Fat seed will
be broadcast over the topsoil at a rate of 40 seeds per square foot. New lawn fertilizer will be
applied per the manufacturer's requirements. Straw mulch will be applied with a power mulcher
at a rate of one ton per acre or approximately 1"deep and crimped into the soil with a tractor. The
applicant will be responsible for any weed control once the grass is established. The site will be
seeded in the spring of 2015.
The stockpiled gravel will be removed and used for the maintenance of the subdivision roads
within Avery Ranch, Horseman's Park, Cross Creek Ranch, the Highlands at Cross Creek Ranch
and the Preserve.
No office,shop/maintenance buildings, processing facilities,or underground openings are existing
or proposed. No on-site water is to be used in conjunction with this operation. The hydrology of
the site will not be altered from its natural flows.
The estimated start date of this Reclamation Project would be as soon as the permit is issued and
the completion date would be in the spring of 2016, once the grass has been established.
