(GEI) is submitting this request for a Technical Revision (TR)
number 2 (TR -02) to the reclamation plan for the Debetz Pit (Permit Number: M-
1977283). The Debetz Pit is currently known as the "Fishing is Fun" pond and is
located just north of the Adams County Regional Park between the Dunes Golf
Course and South Platte River (Figure 1).
Background and Purpose:
The approved reclamation plan for Debetz Pit was prepared in 1978 and was
designed to complement the surrounding area by incorporating land uses such as
recreation, fishing, hiking, and bitting. The surrounding area currently includes a
golf course to the north and west, several fishing piers along the south shore of the
pond, and a bike path along the south and east shorelines.
Technical Revision No. 01 (TR -01) was approved on August 21, 2013 and
addressed the reduction of pond surface area by filling the northern portion of the
pond with approximately 75,000 cubic yards of inert fill obtained from the South
Platte Interceptor pipeline installation. TR -01 also addressed reclamation of areas
disturbed during construction and ill operations. A copy of the approved TR -01 is
provided in Attachment 1.
The purpose of this Technical Revision (TR -02) is to update the mine reclamation
plan to reflect a revised reclamation plan in areas not addressed in TR -0 1. TR -02
provides a description of how loc lized areas of the pond shoreline will be re- graded
and stabilized along the edge oft golf course and southern shoreline and other
www.geiconsultants.com I GEI Consultants, Inc.
4601 DTC Boulevard, Suite 900, Denver, CO 80237
303.662.0100 fax: 303.662.8757
