SITE DESCRIPTION EXHIBIT B (cONT)
WATER RESOURCES
There are no water structures on the site . The closest
water body is the ephemeral streambed labeled as Rock Creek on
the vicinity map . This streambed lies approximately 575 feet
northeast and 15 feet lower then the proposed bottom of the mine .
The predominate drainage pattern across the site is from south to
north. Review of well data from the Office of the State Engi-
neer' s files on the surrounding area indicate the highest ground
water table is approximately 105 feet below the proposed floor
level of the mine . For this reason we do not expect to encounter
ground water on this site . We will not affect the hydrologic
balance to the surface or subsurface water in the area. This
will be a dry mine .
MINING PLAN EXHIBIT C
6 . 3 .3 - This is an open pit mine located approximately 17
miles north of Yuma, Colorado and 1, 100 feet east of County Road
Aaa . From the intersection of Hwy 34 and Colorado 59 in Yuma
follow Colorado 59 north, 15 miles to County Road 543 then west
3 . 3 miles to County Road Aaa and north 0 . 40 miles to the access
road that leads to the mine . This access also serves as property
access for the rest of the land controlled by the property owner.
It is currently 20 feet wide and the location is shown on the
Vicinity Map - Exhibit A-1 supplied with this application. Periodic
grading will be necessary to keep the road in its present condi-
tion and to make it passable additional gravelly material may be
added to protect it from the truck traffic hauling material from
the mine . It will remain after mining is complete as access for
the landowners .
The anticipated life of this mine to be between 5 and 15
years depending on the amount of material in the mine and the
market demand. The site is currently used as rangeland and is
zoned agriculture . The usable material on this site is 20+ feet
deep and consists of a sandy gravel on the southern end of the
mine and a gravely sand on the north end. The mining operations
may be done on a lease basis so that there are other companies
mining and processing material under this permit . Those parties
have not been determined at this time .
We plan to start mining into the slope near the central part
of the mine and work south into the hill side . This will create
a level area that will be used as stockpile areas and leave a 20
27
