MINING PLAN EXHIBIT C (CONT)
Of the 9 . 99 acres ± in the permit area, approximately 9 . 06
acres ± will be mined, 0 . 93 acres ± will be setbacks around the
mined area or access road. These setbacks are shown on the Exhibit
E-1 - Mining Plan Map and are 15 feet wide around the mine . They will
be used as growth medium storage areas .
The mine will operate year around with periods of inactivity
such as when adverse weather conditions exist or the market
demand for material is low. We cannot estimate how long these
periods of inactivity will be, but estimate may last up to 18
months or more .
We expect to have 9 . 06 acres ± or less disturbed at any one
time . The bond estimate presented on Page 31 shows the amount of
land we will disturb at a worse case scenario . As mining pro-
gresses we expect to have no more that 500 linear feet of working
face which would need to be shaped at any one time . The mine
face will be worked in one of two ways , either it will be mined
at a 3 : 1 rate or worked as a vertical face . If a vertical face
is worked then at the end of each mining session the highwall
will be graded 3h to lv so no slope grading will be necessary if
mining ends prematurely. The floor of the mine will be graded as
shown on Map Exhibit E-2.
Little or no water will be used at the site . If dust
control water is used, it will be purchased from the City of Yuma
or another approved source and hauled to the site . We will make
sure it is an Office of the State Engineer approved source . We
expect to need from 1 to 1 . 5 acre feet of water per year for dust
control .
If a processing plant is used, it will be temporarily placed
on a level area on the north end of the mine so the plant site
and stockpile area will be out of the way. Mining will be done
by loading material from the working face into stockpiles or
trucks , with a frontend loader or track hoe . As the deposit
deepens we may begin to push material from the upper reaches of
the mine to the floor using a dozer. The RECLAMATION MAP - E-2
shows how we think the area will look when mining ends and
reclamation is complete .
On-site equipment may include, but is not limited to, a
motor grader, front-end loaders, a dozer, conveyors, a crushing
and screening plant, dump trucks and a water truck. Processing
may be done onsite to build material stockpiles that will be
removed as needed.
29
