Revenue Mine MCP Plan 2014 <br />3.4.3 Potassium Amyl Xanthate — Powder <br />When handling potassium amyl xanthate, the following PPE should be used: tight fitting chemical safety <br />goggles or face shield and protective gloves and clothing. A MSHA approved dust mask or respirator <br />should be worn if conditions are dusty or if fumes are present. It is recommended that adequate <br />ventilation or a local exhaust system be used. Wash thoroughly after handling. <br />In the event of a spill /release where level of exposure is unknown, a positive pressure, self - contained <br />respirator is required. The potassium amyl xanthate can be swept up into containers for appropriate <br />disposal. Water can be used to flush the spill area. If the spill is in excess of 100 pounds, the quantity is <br />considered reportable. Any spill outside the containment in the reagent room is considered reportable. <br />Section 5 outlines the procedures for reporting. <br />3.4.4 Flotecc F -120 Frother /Collector (Aero 404) — Liquid <br />Flotecc Frother F -120 should be stored in a cool, dry place. Spill should be contained if possible. Wear <br />NIOSH approved positive pressure, self - contained respirator suitable for exposure. In addition, wear a <br />rain suit during cleanup. The spill should be covered with inert absorbent material and swept up in a <br />waste disposal container. See MSDS sheets for more details. <br />3.4.5 Copper Sulfate — Granular <br />Information: Use proper personal protective equipment as indicated below: <br />Eyes: Wear appropriate protective eyeglasses or chemical safety goggles as described by OSHA's eye and <br />face protection regulations in 29 CFR 1910.133 or European Standard EN 166. <br />Skin: Wear appropriate protective gloves to prevent skin exposure. <br />Clothing: Wear appropriate protective clothing to prevent skin exposure. <br />Respirators: A respiratory protection program that meets OSHA's 29 CFR 1910.134 and ANSI Z88.2 <br />requirements or European Standard EN 149 must be followed whenever workplace conditions warrant <br />respirator use. <br />Spills/Leaks: <br />Vacuum or sweep up material and place into a suitable disposal container. Avoid runoff into storm sewers <br />and ditches which lead to waterways. Clean up spills immediately, observing precautions in the Protective <br />Equipment section. Avoid generating dusty conditions. Provide ventilation. U.S. regulations require <br />reporting spills and releases to soil, water and air in excess of reportable quantities. <br />Section 7 - Handling and Storage <br />Handling: <br />Wash thoroughly after handling.
