3.4 STANDBY EQUIPMENT <br />The Contractor shall furnish standby pumping and power equipment of sufficient capacity to <br />maintain the dewatering system in an operable condition in the event of failure of any of the <br />original equipment or power. <br />3.5 DAMAGES <br />The Contractor shall be responsible for, and shall repair any damage to Work in place, other <br />Contractors' equipment, and the excavation, including damage to the bottom of the excavation <br />due to heave and including removal of material and pumping out of the excavated area that may <br />result from the Contractor's negligence, inadequate or improper operation of the dewatering <br />system, and any mechanical or electrical failure of the dewatering system. <br />3.6 ABANDONMENT <br />All pipe in the dewatering system shall be grouted full and abandoned in place at the conclusion <br />of construction. The Contractor shall submit a plan for abandonment and shall not proceed with <br />the abandonment without the written approval of the Engineer. <br />END OF SECTION <br />NCCI Pit #1 Reservoir Liner - Technical Specifications Dewatering <br />3123 19-4 <br />
