Our review indicates the NOI application
contains deficiencies as defined by Rule 5.1.3 of the Mineral Rules and Regulations of the
Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board for Hard Rock, Metal, and Designated Mining
Operations. The Division requires the information described below before we can approve the
NOI application.
l. The Applicant did not provide the longitude and latitude or UTM coordinates for the
proposed prospecting site. Please replace page 2 of the Application form (copy enclosed) and
include the necessary location information.
2. The Applicant has stated a trench will connect two areas of abandoned prospecting activity.
Please describe the prospect sites and provide the approximate dimensions of the disturbance.
Also, clarify if the Applicant intends on replacing topsoil and establishing vegetation on the
areas of existing disturbance. The Applicant should note that they will assume reclamation
responsibility for any existing disturbance that is re-disturbed either through prospecting or
reclamation activities.
3. The Applicant is proposing to re-open an existing Forest Service road. Please describe what
steps will be taken to re-open the road. In addition, describe how the road will be reclaimed
at the completion of prospecting activities.
4. The Applicant has stated that approximately 10,000 cubic yards of material will be moved as
part of the prospecting operation. This estimate does not include material that is proposed to
be moved to reclaim the existing disturbance at the site. Please revise the estimate to include
the volume of material that will be moved to reclaim the existing disturbance.
co
hQ o'
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, CO 80203 P 303.866.3567 F 303.832.8106 http://mining.state.co.us
John W.
