Williams/Illinois CN-01 Adequacy Letter
Page 3 of S
August 11,2014
d. The overhead power line located within 200 feet of the southeast corner of the
proposed site.
6.4.4 Exhibit D - Mining Plan
9. Please state if the Applicant intends to operate the site continuously or if the Division should
consider the site an "intermittent operation" as defined in C.R.S 34-32.5-103(11)(b).
10. The Applicant states in the proposed Mining Plan, no more than 10 acres of land will be
exposed at any given time. The Division considers all land affected by mining activities as
disturbed acreage until the land is fully reclaimed and released by the Division. Since the
current mining operation has disturbed 9.90 acres, the Division recommends the maximum
allowed disturbance acreage be set at 14.98 to include the current mining area and Stage 1
of the proposed mining plan, at minimum.
11. During the pre-operational inspection, the Applicant discussed marking the boundaries of
the next two mining stages as mining progresses. Please revise the Mining Plan to include
the commitment to mark the next two stages ahead of the current mining stage as mining
progresses at the site.
6.4.5 Exhibit E - Reclamation Plan
12. The Applicant states reclamation work will begin in the pit area during and after each stage is
mined. An area of approximately 5 acres will be in reclamation during mining of each stage so
that no more than 10 acres of land will be disturbed at any given time during the life of the
112 permit. As noted above, The Division considers all land affected by mining activities as
disturbed acreage until the land is fully reclaimed and released by the Division. Since the
current mining operation has disturbed 9.90 acres, the Division recommends the maximum
allowed disturbance acreage be set at 14.98 to include the current mining area and Stage 1
of the proposed mining plan.
6.4.6 Exhibit F - Reclamation Plan Map
13. Please revise the Reclamation Plan Map to depict the expected physical appearance of the
area of the affected land. The map must show the proposed topography of the area with
contour lines of sufficient detail to portray the direction and rate of slope of all reclaimed
land.
6.4.7 Exhibit G -Water Information
14. Please provide an estimate of the project water requirements including flow rates and annual
volumes for the development, mining and reclamation phases of the project.
