• loading points to train the material into the receiving belt for a
distance equal to 2 feet per 100 fpm of belt speed from the end of the
discharge chute. Skirtboards are constructed of 1/4-inch steel plate
and covered with a 1/8-inch cover plate to contain dust. Liners are
wear resistant steel plates. An adjustable 1/2-inch thick rubber
sealing strip is used to prevent spillage and to minimize wedging of
conveyed material between the skirt boa rd and the conveyor belt, A
rubber curtain is provided at the inlet of the chute and at the outlet
of the skirt boards, and a hinged door is accessible for clean-u p.
A totally enclosed, positive action backstop is used to prevent rever-
sal or rollback of the conveyor, while the conveyor will shut down due
to belt slippage or misalignment, a plugged chute, or emergency stops
from pull switches.
A freeze protection spray system will spray the coal with a freeze
conditioning agent at the loadout surge bin to protect it from
• freezing. The building is enclosed, except for train
clearances, with uninsulated siding.
The loadout building is furnished with a gate and loading chute.
