July 28, 2014 C -1981- 038 /Bowie No. 1 Mine BFB
At the East Mine, the south side of the main access road, east of the main gate, was dominated by annuals
such as cheatgrass, prickly lettuce and tumble mustard (photo 6). There are a few perennials that were noted:
Lewis' flax, cicer milkvetch and thickspike wheatgrass. Jointed goatgrass (Colorado noxious weed, Class B list)
was growing where the old refuse pile pond road and the main access road intersect (photos 7 & 8).
The vegetation along Steven's Creek in the ROM area looks really good. The area appeared to be dominated by
perennial species.
ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS /COMPLIANCE
No enforcement actions were initiated as a result of this inspection, nor are any pending.
PHOTOGRAPHS
Photo 3 — Culvert Needs Cleaning Photo 4 — Loadout East Pond Contained Water
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 1
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 0
Page 3 of 4
