I stopped at the mine office and talked to Mr. Basil Bear about the inspection. He <br />said I could inspect the mine but he did not accompany me for the inspection. The weather was partly cloudy with <br />scattered showers in the area. The ground was dry. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Drainage — Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />Ponds 1 (photo 1), 2 and refuse pile at the East Mine were dry. The sediment traps along the East Mine <br />main access road were in good condition (photo 2). The culvert under the main access road that drains to the <br />refuse pond needs cleaning (photo 3). The inlet is packed with weeds and it looks like rocks are in the culvert. <br />Steven's Creek through the ROM area was dry. <br />The W I and W2 ponds at the West Mine were dry. <br />The pond on the east end of the load out contained water but was not discharging (photo 4). The stand -pipe for the <br />east end pond was free of obstructions. The dugout pond on the west side of the loadout was dry. <br />ROADS — Rule 4.03 Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3) Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4) Surfacing and <br />Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6) Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br />The East Mine main entrance gate hinges were broken and the gate was damaged. Mr. Bear said that the <br />gate had been vandalized.
