59 <br />The "excluded areas" will be evaluated using cover criteria only. NECC will use <br />20% cover as a standard for erosion control. Revegetated cover will consist of a <br />permanent vegetative cover consistent with the proposed post- mining land use of <br />rangeland. <br />Twenty percent (20 %) cover represents a soil loss of 0.33 tons /acre /year. Therefore, a <br />20% vegetative cover producing .33 tons /acre /year would be an acceptable <br />management level. These <br />species shall compromise at least 5% and no more than 60% relative cover and <br />shall consist of perennial, non- noxious species. <br />Woody Plant Density <br />Woody plant density will be determined by conducting a total census within each <br />shrub clump.
