Forrest Luke, TMI
Page 5
7/29/2014
boundary will be added to these maps at that time, with the existing permit boundary also
included for reference.
b. Division's Response: Sections 2.7.53 and 2.7.53a of Trappers permit discusses baseline
groundwater levels and contains narratives, tables, figures and maps with the required
information from Rule 2.04.7(4)(c) for the current permit area. Please revise these sections
with baseline information for the expansion area or provide a new section containing the
required information for the expansion area. The M54 map series depicts the pre -mine
water level elevations in the various aquifers at the site; please update these maps with for
the expansion area or provide a new map of the M54 series with this information.
c. Trapper's Response #2: Please see the revised map M54 series concerning groundwater
elevations for the mine -site and expansion areas.
d. Division's Response: Trapper submitted revised M54 series maps depicting ground water
elevations for some of the aquifers within the permit and proposed expansion area for the
"SS ", HI and the QR aquifers. It is unclear which aquifer the map designation "SS" is
depicting since there are three different sandstone aquifers within Trapper's permit area.
The areal and vertical distribution of the 2nd White Sandstone, 3rd White Sandstone and 20
Mile Sandstone aquifers will need to be depicted. Water elevation maps were not
submitted for the alluvial aquifer, the "KLM" aquifer, or "U" aquifer. Please submit maps
for the aquifers cited above for the expansion area.
3.3.3 East Panel Landslide Geotechnical Evaluation
20. On page 3 -27b, Stations 5 to 8 have replaced Stations 1 to 4 that were listed previously. For the
purposes of continuity, a new paragraph should be inserted at the top of page 3 -27b which gives a
brief description of what happened to the original four stations, and when the current stations were
placed in service.
a. Trapper's Response: Information has been added to enclosed page 3 -27b addressing site
installation dates, equipment installed at each monitoring station, and removal dates for
individual stations. In addition, Figure 3.3.3 -1 (enclosed page 3 -27c) has been updated to
reflect current station locations and Table 3.3 -4 (enclosed page 3 -27d) is updated to reflect
current active locations. Enclosed page 3 -27a is revised to correct a typo.
Division's Response: Please update the aerial photo map on page 3 -27c to depict all eight
monitoring stations. Also, please include a date on the map for the aerial photograph used.
c. Trapper's Response #2: The aerial photo map on page 3 -27c has been updated as
requested and is attached.
