A <br />maintenance shop remains on site. Mine personnel are located at the Peabody Sage Creek Mine office on Routt <br />County road 27A. <br />The weather was warm and cloudy, with afternoon thunderstorms developing. Thunderstorms had occurred inthe <br />area the previous night, but mine site was not wet, nor were there signs of puddles on the mine site. <br />FISH and WILDLIFE — Rule 4.18: <br />Dusky Grouse (Blue grouse) was observed near Shrub plot SP 2005 U and drainage PM -3A. The adult <br />bird would not fly away and would only run several feet from the inspector. This indicates she may have had <br />young nearby. The inspector did not see any chicks. The vegetation in this area consisted of dense alfalfa, and <br />perennial grasses. <br />Another Dusky grouse flushed up at the top of the ridge between drainage PM -3 and PM -413. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.053; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Drainage — Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />Pond 6 was holding water. No concerns were noted with Pond 6. The inspector encountered Katryna <br />Snowden of SCC on the access road to the maintenance shop. Katryna was conducting water sampling. She did <br />not accompany the inspector on the DRMS inspection.. <br />Stock tank PM-31-1 was dry. The lower riser is broken (photo). This needs to be repaired in accordance with the <br />approved design. <br />Stock tank STPM 3 -2 was dry. This tank had no risers, just upper and lower pipe.
