The Colowyo <br />employees who participated in the field inspection were Kurtis Blunt, Lee Sampson, and Marty Stearns. Tony <br />Tennyson and Steve Weist participated in office discussions. The weather was mostly clear and warm. The <br />ground was dry. <br />The South Taylor Pit was inspected from above. The only activity was drilling and blasting. The 103 dragline and <br />115 excavator were in the pit but idle (probably for Thursday maintenance activities). <br />See the Special Categories section for information on highwall mining operations. <br />The 101 dragline has been dismantled onsite, and pieces have been shipped to another location. The project is <br />nearly complete. <br />AIR RESOURCE PROTECTION — Rule 4.17: <br />Water trucks were operating on many portions of the site, including haul roads and the Taylor Creek <br />Road. <br />BACKFILL and GRADING — Rule 4.14 <br />Contemporaneous Reclamation 4.14.1; Approximate Original Contour 4.14.2; Highwall Elimination 4.14.1(2)(f); <br />Steep Slopes 4.14.2, 4.27; Handling of Acid and Toxic Materials 4.143; Stabilization of Rills and Gullies 4.14.6: <br />In the West Pit, spoil was being loaded into trucks with the 114 shovel and moved from the northwest <br />corner of the spoils (near the runaway truck ramp) to the east end of the pit. <br />The east side of the South Taylor Pit is being partially filled with the 103 dragline. <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 1 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 0 <br />Page 2 of 12 <br />
