July 9, 2014 C- 1996- 083 /Bowie No. 2 Mine SLB
The operator had placed wattles on the drainage outflow points on the Gob Pile #3 haul road at the crossing over
the Fire Mountain Canal, and graded the surface of the roadway to ensure that the elevation of the roadway ties
into culverts J6 and J7 carrying runoff to ditches J18 and J19.
The intersection of Gob Pile 43 haul road and the old Bowie Road was clean. Material washed from the
roadway, however, had collected in the Bowie Road ditch, on the northeast side of the intersection, and caused
water to pool in the ditch. The operator indicated that the ditch would be regraded to ensure that water would
drain to the existing CDOT culvert.
REVEGETATION Rule 4.15Vegetative Cover; Timing:
Significant progress had been made on weed spraying site wide.
