Wisconsin
Gunnison, CO 81230
Re: Crystal Hill Mine, Saguache County, CO (SHPO Project #65920)
Dear Mr. Wilkinson:
Thank you for your correspondence dated April 14, 2014 (received by our office on April 16, 2014 with
additional information received via telephone on May 5, 2014) regarding the above referenced project.
0 r office has reviewed the submitted materials and assuming the mining project will be limited to within the
e. 'sting Crystal Hill Mine open pit and that waste rock will be stored on existing rock dump areas, we concur that
n historic properties will be affected by the proposed project. However, if the mining operation expands
beyond the exiting open pit and the existing rock dump areas we recommend that a cultural resource inventory
be conducted since there is the possibility for the presence of significant cultural resources in the surrounding
area.
Should human remains be discovered during the proposed project activities, the requirements under State law
C R.S. 24-80 (part 13) apply and must be followed.
*17.iank you for the opportunity to comment.
