,G(-)
V-1 13
HISTORY
July 10, 2014
Bob Oswald
Environmental Protection Specialist
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
4e: Notice of 110(2) Hard Rock /Metal Mining Reclamation Permit Application Consideration Colorado
Mining & Exploration, LLC, Crystal Hill Project, File No. M -2014 -027 (SHPO Project #65920)
Dear Mr. Oswald:
Thank you for your correspondence dated July 3, 2014 (received by our office on July 9, 2014) regarding the
above referenced project.
Our office has reviewed the submitted materials and assuming the mining project will be limited to within the
existing Crystal Hill Mine open pit and that waste rock will be stored on existing rock dump areas, we concur that
no historic properties will be affected by the proposed project. However, if the mining operation expands
beyond the exiting open pit and the existing rock dump areas we recommend that a cultural resource inventory
be conducted since there is the possibility for the presence of significant cultural resources in the surrounding
area.
Should human remains be discovered during the proposed project activities, the requirements under State law
C.R.S. 24 -80 (part 13) apply and must be followed.
Thank you for the opportunity to comment. If we may be of further assistance, please contact Todd McMahon,
Staff Archaeologist at (303) 866-4607/todd.mcmahong_state.co.us state.co.us or Dan Corson, Intergovernmental Services
Director at (303) 866 - 2673 / dan.corsongstate.co.us.
Sincerely,
Edward C.
