tailings /clay layer and the other will be at bedrock. The enclosed well design sketches explain the details
of these installations.
The wells will be labelled as follows:
Well GW -1A (Shallow) near Atlas Pile
Well GW -16 (Deep) near Atlas Pile
Well GW -2A (Shallow) in middle of disturbed area
Well GW -2A (Deep) in middle of disturbed area
Well GW -3A (Shallow) furthest downstream and easternmost
Well GW -313 (Deep) furthest downstream and easternmost
Monitoring and Sampling Procedures
Samples from each well will be taken immediately after installation and then 2 more samples will be
taken one month after each previous sample. After the 3rd monthly sample, additional samples will be
taken at 3 month intervals, which is the same schedule in the approved permit and these samples will
be taken at the same time as the other surface water and mine samples so they can be evaluated
together. Each of these samples will be sent to the laboratory for the full groundwater suite of analyses
that are being used to test all the previous groundwater samples taken in 2012 and 2013 from inside the
mine.
In addition, these wells will be sampled at the same times as above for field parameters of temperature,
pH, conductivity and water level. The results of these tests and their evaluation will be incorporated in
the DRMS Annual Report. As part of the evaluation, water chemistry from the deep and shallow wells
will be compared to surface water in Sneffels and atlas Creeks, the Seep and the underground mine
waters. Also, sample test data from any sediment pond discharges will be evaluated in the Annual
Report.
Revenue Mine TR -04 Appendix 15 Page 2
