2.05 APPLICATION FOR PERMIT FOR SURFACE OR VNDERGROUND MINING ACTIVITIES -
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR OPERATION AND RECLAMATION PLANS.
• The overhead conveyor and stacker for coal ground storage was
necessary to stockpile and load coal from the portable crushing
and screening facility into trucks for transport to the existing
train load-out. The portable crushing and screening facility is
no longer in place, reclaimed in 1993, at the West Mine
facilities.
A sedimentation pond as described in Section 2.05.3 (4) was
constructed using standard earthwork methods to minimize impact
to the hydrologic regime. The pond area was backfilled during
2000. Two new ponds were constructed to replace this pond.
To provide water to the West Mine for firefighting, underground
water and domestic needs, a water pipeline and storage tank was
installed. The 4" diameter PVC pipeline was buried from the
existing Steven's Gulch well field along an existing jeep trail
to the West Mine. This pipe line will be left in place and
abandoned. The disturbance created by the installation of this
pipeline was fully reclaimed during construction.
A 200,000 gallon water tank of conventional welded steel plate
type construction on a reinforced concrete foundation was con-
structed approximately 1,200 feet north of the mine site. This
water tank remains in place.
A steel chute approximately 9 feet wide at the widest point was
• constructed above the underground conveyor belt between the
2,000 ton surge bin and the rotary crusher at the East Mine, for
use with the West Mine coal production. This chute and the
associated conveyor belt has been reclaimed during 2001.

Permit Renewal - 10 - 01/03
RN-o4 (4~9~oN~
/Y1R-106
