Compliance With Mine Plan-Support Facilities Not On-site <br />NANA <br />-Other-Special Categories Of Mining <br />NAY <br />-Processing Waste-Topsoil <br />COMMENTS <br />This was a complete inspection conducted by Janet Binns of CDRMS. No mine personnel accompanied the <br />inspector during the inspection. The mine is a reclaimed surface mine. As such, no mine personnel remain on the <br />mine site. Mine records are stored at the Peabody Sage Creek Mine office on Routt County Road 27A. Mine <br />records were reviewed the afternoon of 6/18/2014. On the ground inspection of the yoast mine progressed on <br />6/19/2014. <br />The weather on 6/18/2014 was overcast, windy, with afternoon rain showers. Weather on 6/19/2014 was warm, <br />dry and sunny. <br />AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS –Rule 5.02.4(1): <br />Mine records were found to be complete with the exception of DRMS Inspection reports: April 2014 <br />needs to be placed in file. <br />FISH and WILDLIFE –Rule 4.18: <br />Two elk were observed drinking from Pond 13 <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Drainage –Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />Pond 10 was discharging 0.12 on the staff gauge. Effluent was clear. Pond 10 embankment has patches <br />of noxious weeds that need control. Houndstongue was noted onthe outslope of the embankment and Jointed <br />goatgrass was observed onthe top of the embankment. The inspector tied flagging tape to the Jointed goatgrass <br />for location identification. <br />Culverts: <br />Culvert YB-2 inlet has rocks approx. 1 foot inside the culvert.
