The area of bank cuttingdoes not appear to have any additional inputs of runoff from the disturbed area
and is much flatter than the stable drainage upslope.. This bank cutting appears to be a function of the natural
substrate and not a result of SCC’s activities.
GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLIANCE:
The Division is evaluating the drainage from PM 4D and culvert PM-10 to Pond 015.Repairs to culvert
PM-18 and the access road along Pond 017 need to be implemented prior to the end of July2014.
ROADS –Rule 4.03
Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3)
Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4)
Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6)
Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7):
Reclaimed Road K was walked from the bottom of PM1 drainage to the bottom of PM-2 drainage.
(Photo 4)Overall this reclaimed area was in good condition with little evidence of erosionfeatures such as rill and
gully formation. Some weeds were present; Houndstounge, Whitetop, Canada thistle. Overall, vegetation is well
established and consists of a diverse perennial stand. The corner of this reclaimed haul road, north of Pond 017,
had a thinner vegetative stand than much of the rest of the reclaimed haul road.
At the intersection of the reclaimed haul road and access road K (Rick’s gate) there is a graveled area on the west
side ofthe road just south of culvertK-3. The graveled area is not shown on map.
Drainage LU-6 crosses reclaimed Haulroad K(Photo 5). This drainageis in good condition with limited head
cutting of the drainage on the east side of the intersection. Thisheadcutting appears to be cutting back into the
natural drainage. Brush packing, or akeyed in check dam could be a viableway to retard further headcutting.
(Photo 6)
Culvert K-3 outlet is 1/3 full of sediment and needs clean out(Photos 7, 8 and 9). Culvert K-3 inlet is clear of
sediment but a healthy patch of Canada thistle has established upslope from this culvert. Weed control measures
are needed.
Access road J was being graded during the morning of 6/17. Access road J was in good condition and no apparent
problems.
Access road G appeared in good condition.
No problems were noted with Ridgeline access road.LU-4 was maintained and no problems identified.
RECLAMATION SUCCESS -Rule 4.15, Rule 3:
The Division is finishing the review of SL5.
Overall the reclaimed areaslook good, with good perennial vegetation having been established, or becoming
Number of PartialInspection this Fiscal Year: 8
Number of CompleteInspections this Fiscal Year: 4
514
Page of
