Exhibit 19(25) seeks to determine the effect of adding a new culvert (C19) which will <br />divert flow to the north of the main mine haul road, from the south -east corner of the 4- <br />way intersection, and reduce the discharge volume traveling through the "C 16 system ". <br />The exhibit cites flow values from tables 20 and 21, and also updates those tables with <br />revised calculated values for the structures affected. <br />a. The flow through C 19 is equivalent to the flow through C9, the value for which <br />is taken from table 21 (2.71 cfs). On inspection of Map 13, C9 conveys the flow <br />of ditch D6. According to table 20, the flow through D6 is 3.98cfs. <br />Please check the calculations for C9 and D6, updating the exhibits and tables as <br />appropriate. <br />b. The flow for D 15 is both cited and updated. The value cited from table 20 is <br />8.75cfs. On inspection of Map 13, D15 conveys the combined flow of C8 and <br />D13 (table values of 3.77 and 0.59cfs, respectively) which equates to 4.36cfs. <br />Please check the calculations for C8, D13 and D15, updating the exhibits and <br />tables as appropriate. Since the discharge volume ofD15 is being updated it <br />would be preferable to amend Exhibit 19(25) to cite C8 and D13 instead. <br />The flow for C13 is given as 10.75cfs, and is cited as the combined flow of <br />ditches D 12 and D 14. The table values for these three structures are 8.27, 8.75 <br />and 6.83cfs, respectively. Since none of these values are in agreement, and ditch <br />D 14 was the subject of a recent Notice of Violation, following a breach of the <br />ditch into the Purgatoire River, these values should be reconciled. <br />Please check the calculations for D12, D14 and C13, updating the exhibits and <br />tables as appropriate. <br />d. Culvert C17 is designed to convey the flow of the upper reach of D22, and is <br />sized appropriately. Since the lower reach of D22 conveys a greater flow than the <br />upper reach (and will convey more pending the approval of this revision) the <br />lower reach should be re- designated in order for tables 20 and 21 to remain <br />consistent. <br />Please re- designate the lower reach ofD22, updating table 20 andMap 13 as <br />necessary. <br />Culvert C22 will be affected by the new culvert C19. Although C22 is approved <br />as a temporary culvert to be installed as necessary, it should be sized <br />appropriately if it is installed. <br />Please include a design for C22 and update table 21. <br />
