(3) All surface areas of the affected land, including spoil piles, will be stabilized and protected <br /> to effectively control erosion. <br /> 3.1.7 Groundwater-Specific Requirements <br /> (1) This area is high and dry. No groundwater will be exposed during mining. There are <br /> no permits contemplated or needed. <br /> The statewide groundwater standards will be followed as established by the Water Quality <br /> Control Commission (hereafter, the WQCC). <br /> (a) Classified areas: Operations that may affect the quality of ground water in a <br /> specified area that has been classified by the WQCC shall comply with <br /> standards applicable to such specified area. <br /> (b) Unclassified areas: operations that may affect the quality of groundwater, which <br /> has not been classified by the WQCC, shall protect the existing and reasonably, <br /> potential future uses of such groundwater. <br /> (c) Water quality standards applicable to groundwater that has been classified, <br /> state-wide standards for certain pollutants, and interim narrative standards set <br /> by the WQCC shall supersede any numeric protection levels established for the <br /> subject pollutants to this Subsection 3.1 .7 <br /> 3.1.8 Wildlife <br /> (1) The operator will consider the safety and protection of wildlife on site. No described <br /> critical periods or species are known by this operator/applicant or landowner. The <br /> COLORADO PARKS & WILDLIFE statement/evaluation prepared by Michael Trujillo Area <br /> Wildlife Manager, report dated April 20, 2014 is attached to this report in Exhibit "H". Mr. <br /> Trujillo stated, "After reviewing the maps and documents for the proposed site CPW does not <br /> foresee significant impacts to wildlife or wildlife habitat." <br /> (2) No habitat management is planned on this site. Reclamation is planned rangeland not <br /> wildlife habitat. <br />
