June 2, 2014 C- 1981 - 010 /Trapper Mine
JLE
springs were discharging; Johnson 10R, East Pyeatt 43, East Pyeatt Spring, East Pyeatt South Spring, No Name
45R Coyote Spring, the S -1 Spring and the Jeffway Gulch spring in the proposed expansion area to the east.
Results of the field parameter taken are presented in the table below. Overall, each of the ponds appeared stable,
erosional features and failures were not observed. Each of the primary and emergency spillways appeared
functional. A large patch of Whitetop was noted on the face of the Middle Flume Pond and will need to be treated.
Site
pH
Temperature ( °C)
Conductivity (µmhos)
Johnson 10R
8.4
17
3800
East Pyeatt No. 3
7.5
10.8
3280
East Pyeatt Spring
7.4
10
3910
No Name #5
8.5
21
2370
Coyote Spring
8.1
14
2430
East Pyeatt South
Spring
8.3
21
3430
S -1 Spring
8.4
15
2670
Jeffway Gulch Spring *
8
13
1380
*Not part of required sampling, sampled for baseline for future expansion area.
Trapper Mine is re- establishing a drainage between parcels F -A -12 and parcels Z- A- 12 /Z -A -13. Rock is staged
adjacent to this channel to build check dams and for channel stabilization efforts. Trapper is in the process of
updating their drainage re- establishment plan as part of Permit Revision No. 7. Once the plan is approved,
Trapper will implement the new drainage reconstruction /stabilization plan.
GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLIANCE:
Part of Trapper Mine's operation plan is to conduct development drilling within the permit area as discussed in
section 3.3 of the permit. During the inspection, I requested abandonment reports for development drill holes
conducted after 2011. Trapper supplied me with a cover letter dated June 3rd, 2014 regarding development
drilling that occurred in 2012 and 2013. The letter also included drill hole abandonment reports for each of the
development drill holes that were drilled in 2012 and 2013. The abandonment report includes all of the
information required by Rule 4.073(3). All of the drill holes were plugged with cement or betonite as approved in
the permit.
Development drill pad 2012 - N3 was observed. The drill pad was graded to blend in with the surrounding
topography and the site appears to have been topsoiled and seeded. Dense grass vegetation has developed over
this pad.
Development drill pad 2012 -N1 was observed. This drill pad is within the current mining disturbance area
adjacent to a haul road. The drill holes were plugged.
Development drill pad 2012 -N2 was observed. This drill pad is within the current mining disturbance area. The
drill holes were plugged.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 8
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 4
Page 4 of 19
