There has been no refuse, acid-forming, or toxic producing material mined at Three Bells; no <br /> production of these materials is anticipated during the remainder of the mining process. <br /> Drill holes and auger holes will be filled with non-combustible materials, as outlined in Rule <br /> 3.1.5(6). Three Bells Mine is a surface gravel pit and quarry. The mine has no adits or shafts <br /> that require closing. <br /> Reclamation is not anticipated to include plans for agricultural or horticultural use. <br /> MMM does not plan to use offsite structural fill as backfill material. <br /> All mined material to be disposed of onsite will be disposed in manner to prevent <br /> contamination of the drainage system. <br /> No pollutants will be released to groundwater during reclamation. Any incidental chemical or <br /> fuel spills will be contained and remediated in an expedient and appropriate manner. <br /> 5.5.4 Water— General Requirements <br /> Disturbances to surface water and groundwater will meet all Colorado water laws and <br /> regulations. Necessary permits will be obtained for wells and disturbances. All Colorado and <br /> federal water quality regulations will be met both on the statewide level, and on a site- <br /> specific standard basis. Any variation will be reclaimed to mitigate water contamination. <br /> No siltation structures on the Three Bells Mine lie in drainways. <br /> Earth dams will be constructed to impound reservoirs for the reclamation plan. The below <br /> grade reservoirs develop on the Three Bells Mine will have earth embankments constructed <br /> in stable configuration according to SEO requirements. Reservoir embankments will comply <br /> with water pollution laws and will be constructed with inert, low permeability materials to <br /> prevent stored water/groundwater communication <br /> 5.5.5 Groundwater— Specific Requirements <br /> Groundwater quality standards will be maintained during reclamation operations. Deviations <br /> from regulated water quality standards as a result of mining operations at Three Bells Mine <br /> will be reclaimed in an expedient and appropriate manner. <br /> The Three Bells Mine has no areas classified by the Water Quality Control Commission <br /> (WQCC)to be monitored for groundwater quality. Mining and reclamation activities in areas <br /> not classified by the WQCC will be carried out in such a manner to protect groundwater <br /> resources as outlined by the WQCC. <br /> Groundwater disturbances and interaction is anticipated to be minimal. Measures shall be <br /> taken to preserve existing groundwater resources as reclamation commences.
