Seneca I1 Mine June 2014
SL -6 Phase 111 Bond Release Request
tt = T— (0.9 % technical standard)
s
7—t-1
554.4-90
t`al` — 553.9 = 2.98
R 30
Since critical t = 0.854 (one - tailed, alpha = 0.2, 29 df) and t, is greater than this critical value, the
hypothesis of no difference is rejected and reclamation success for 2011 BRB -5 Phase III
Background woody plant density under Phase III is demonstrated.
A reverse t -test asserting that the 2011 BRB -5 Phase III Concentration Area woody plant density
is indistinguishable from 90% of the standard is as follows:
Y— (0.9 Y technical standard)
t _ l
r n_
2035.6-900
t "d` — 1} = 5.62
(1303.11)
Since critical t = 0.849 (one - tailed, alpha = 0.2, 49 do and tc is greater than this critical value, the
hypothesis of no difference is rejected and reclamation success for 2011 BRB -5 Phase III woody
plant Concentrations Areas under Phase III is demonstrated.
2012 Woody Plant Density Success Evaluation
The Background density of 210.4 stems per acre observed in the 2012 BRB -5 Phase III bond
release area exceeded the 90 stems per acre performance standard. The mean of 1,614.7 stems
per acre observed in the Concentration Areas also well exceeds the 900 stems per acre
performance standard. The combined total aerial extent of woody density Concentration Areas
was 19.0 acres, or 7.0% of the BRB -5 Phase III bond release block (271.2 acres). Hence the
standard that there would be at least 5% of the Phase III BRB block with at least 1,000 stems per
acre (90% of the standard equals 900 stems per acre) has been met for 2012.
17
