May 27, 2014 C- 1981- 012/New Elk Mine <br />approval from the CDPHE to use a flocculent. <br />The hillside above the culvert C -41 outlet (above pond 8) is currently eroding and unstable (photo 7). Mr. <br />Massarotti explained that he plans to re- contour and re -grade the area. The source of the water that caused the <br />erosion has been re- directed along the beltline, through two straw -bale catchments and into catchment 45. <br />Culvert-41 is partially obstructed by soil and tumble weeds and needs to be cleaned (photo 8). <br />The catchment basins C -A (photo 9), C45, C39, C -B and C40 along the Refuse Disposal Area Road were recently <br />cleaned. <br />REVEGETATION — Rule 4.15 Vegetative Cover; Timing: <br />The area to the West of culvert C -2 and South of the road was seeded and mulched about 6 weeks ago. <br />Grasses and forbs were starting to sprout. Some bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis), a Colorado List C noxious <br />weed, was noted in this area and will need to be managed as part of the reclamation. <br />The area below the road to the water tank and below ditch D -18 was re- seeded and mulched.
