Skies were clear and the temperature was in the mid- <br />80’s. Ground conditions were dry. <br />PERMITTING UPDATE: <br />TR-20 <br />Coal Mine Waste for Highwall Backfill at King I: The Decision Date has been extended <br />from May 30 to June 30, 2014. <br />TR-22 <br />Exploration Drill Holes (9): The Division will be issuing an adequacy review letter in <br />June. <br />MR-38 <br />Identification of Interests: Supplemental information from GCC has been submitted; <br />Decision date extended from May 29 to June 6, 2014. <br />FISH and WILDLIFE –Rule 4.18: <br />At King I, a bear had left a set of tracks in the drying mudas itcrossedthe West Sediment <br />Pond(Photo 1). <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures <br />4.05.7, 4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage –Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments <br />4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />The operator has made some progress in clearing tumbleweeds from the King II drainage <br />facilities. <br />The West Clearwater ditch at King II was clear and in good condition. Downy brome,which <br />issimilar to Cheat grass, has sprouted up in spots. It wouldbe a good idea to hand-pull the <br />plantsbefore theygoes to seed. <br />A culvert outlet located east of the petroleum storage shed has occasionally been subject to <br />damage from heavy vehicles.
