May 22, 2014 C- 1982 - 056 /Foidel Creek Mine JDM
SIGNS AND MARKERS — Rule 4.02:
Disturbance area markers and topsoil markers were identified in and around the RDA as required, with the
exception of the following:
Previous maintenance items identified in April 2014
- Topsoil markers at the soil piles to the east of the RDA (SF -14) and to the south of the RDA (CRDA S 1 and
CRDA -C1).
- Disturbance area markers near the soil piles CRDA S2 and CRDA -C2 will need to be located in the boundaries
of the disturbance.
Maintenance items
- Two topsoil markers were identified in the Eckman 41, 42, and 42 surface mine reclamation west of the RDA.
According to the permit Twentymile Coal assumed responsibility for a portion of the Eckman Park reclamation
(including the area with the markers), but they are not approved to disturb this reclamation. Please remove any
markers not associated with the Foidel Creek Mine.
TOPSOIL — Rule 4.06
Removal 4.06.2, Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.063; Redistribution 4.06.4:
Suitable material and topsoil material has been placed on the slope of the RDA expansion toe and the first bench
of the slope. The slope and first bench were stable with no vegetation growth. Suitable material of 2.5' deep was
previously verified on the slope. However, due to the inability to verify delineation between the suitable cover
material (2.5') and the topsoil material (1.5') four soil holes were excavated for measurements. Two holes were
excavated on the bench and were measured at 45" and +48" and two holes were excavated on the slope and were
measured at 35" and +48 ". The depths verified adequately address the soil material placement on the slope to the
first bench and the first bench.
Bench 1 Soil
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 10
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 3
Page 6 of 7
