0 2.05.6(6) <br />• <br />The Pitkin Mesa Pipeline approximately parallel's Steven's Gulch. The <br />original pipeline built in 1938, collects water from a series of springs located <br />north of the permit boundary. During various times the original pipeline (4- <br />inch diameter steel) has been replaced by a 6" diameter PVC pipeline. The <br />pipeline services approximately 160 domestic taps on Pitkin Mesa. <br />The USDA -FS has eight decreed water rights within the permit boundary. <br />See following table and Map 23. Six of the water rights are ponds and two <br />are springs and ponds. One of the ponds, water rights 84, has not been field <br />verified or monitored by the Operator. Water right 93 is a pond for which the <br />USDA -FS is unable to ascertain a location. Water <br />rights 87 and 92 are perennial springs and ponds that are typically full and <br />overflowing. The spring associated with water right 87 has an average and <br />maximum flow of 3.3 and 18.8 gallons per minute respectively. The spring <br />associated with water right 92 has an average and maximum flow of 3.5 and <br />22.2 gallons per minute respectively.
