Apri122, 2014 C- 1982 - 057 /Seneca 11-W Mine JHB
function of this ditch. (Photo 10).
Monitoring Wells: Groundwater monitoring well GW- S2W -14W was visible as a 2.5" dia. PVC casing. The
casing was capped but not locked. ID on the PVC was recorded as WW -14.
GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLIANCE:
No significant problems were encountered. Maintenance items are noted in the other sections of this
report.
ROADS — Rule 4.03
Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4); Surfacing and Maintenance 4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6); Reclamation
4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7):
G haul road was dry and drivable. Ridgeline road was dry with no problems. The ridgeline access road
was blocked with a snowbank along the ridge between drainages 006 -NE3 and 006 -E2. SCC was grading Road G
during the inspection. A portion of Haul Road G needs grading to assure that runoff is directed into the ditch and
subsequently to Culvert PM -15. Runoff off the road has washed gravel from the roadway onto the reclamation
(Photo 4)
The slope on the south side of G road between PM -4 and PM -5 continues to gully. SCC has previously attempted
repairs. Additional repairs, seeding, stabilization is needed. (Photos 4 & 14)
Road I was accessed on the first day of the inspection to drainage 006 - Gulch. The road was in good repair and no
maintenance was needed for this road.
It had rained /snowed during the night preceding the second day of the inspection. Snow was present on the higher
elevations of the reclaimed mine. The remaining access roads were soft from the precipitation. Haul Road J was
getting very muddy south of Pond 16. A heavy snowstorm moved in and limited continuing the inspection past
Pond 16.
RECLAMATION SUCCESS - Rule 4.15, Rule 3:
Shrub plot "006 upland AA" (Exhibit 22 -1) looks good. Appears to be dominated by sagebrush
Slope south of G road near Shrub plot "006 upland AA ", still shows evidence of sediment movement down the
slope. Vegetation has recent sediment deposition on it.
REVEGETATION — Rule 4.15
Vegetative Cover; Timing:
Vegetation is greening up. Perennial grasses are green. Perennial forbs are beginning to sprout and shrub
species are beginning to bud.
SLIDES and DAMAGE - Rule 4.12:
Regraded slopes appear stable. No new areas of instability were identified. Previously repaired areas
appear to be holding up following snowmelt. Areas that show evidence of slumping or cracking are in agreement
with Tab 20 Attachment 20 -E: 2011 Areas of Instability.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 7
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 3
Page 5 of 14
