NORTH STAR PIT 112 RECLAMATION PERMIT APPLICATION <br />(d) The size of area(s) to be worked at any one time. <br />The entire 12.55 -acre site will be mined in one phase. <br />(e) An approximate timetable to describe the mining operation. The timetable is for the <br />purpose of establishing the relationship between mining and reclamation during the <br />different phases of a mining operation. <br />It is estimated that mining will be completed within six years, but the life of the operation is <br />dependent on market demand. It may take up to an additional twelve months to reclaim <br />the site. <br />(f) Use Mining Plan Map in conjunction with narrative to present. <br />(i.) Nature, depth and thickness of the deposit and thickness and type of <br />overburden to be removed <br />The thickness of the topsoil is 1 1/2 feet to 2 feet. The sand and gravel resource is an <br />alluvial deposit that ranges in depth from approximately ten to 16 feet. <br />(i.) Nature of the stratum immediately beneath the material to be mined in <br />sedimentary deposits <br />The stratum immediately beneath the sand and gravel deposit is claystone with lenses <br />of siltsone and sandstone bedrock. <br />(g) Identify the primary and secondary commodities to be mined /extracted and describe <br />the intended use. <br />The primary commodities are sand, gravel and fill; intended for construction materials. <br />(h) Name and describe the intended use of all expected incidental products to be <br />mined(extracted by the proposed operation. <br />There are no expected incidental products to be mined. <br />(i) Specify if explosives will be used in conjunction with the mining (or reclamation) <br />No explosive material will be used on -site. <br />North Star Pit 112 Reclamation Permit 4 1 P a g e <br />
