The only tunnel mentioned on Page 4, Items 11 and 12, is the Capital Prize Mine main tunnel. We have an old,
undated document that illustrates the location of this tunnel (Attachment 4). Connections to the Comet and the
Capital Central group of claims are not shown. This NOI describes only how samples will be collected from the
Aetna.
Comment 3: Because this NOI states that there will be no disturbances other than opening the blockages of the
Capital Prize main tunnel, we suggest that the applicant demonstrate how the samples will be collected from the
Comet and the Capital Central claims. There may be surveys that indicate other tunnels that are available and will
be used for this project. If such information exists, we recommend that it be incorporated in this NOI.
Best Practices for Prospecting under a Reservoir and under a Public Road
Comment 4: The Capital Central No. 6 appears to extend under the Georgetown Reservoir and access to the W
Remnant may be under Guanella Pass Road (Attachment 5). As best we can determine, there is no underground
access to these pieces. If samples can be accessed and collected from these pieces of the Capital Central No.6, we
request evidence of the existence of the tunnels. We are also interested in understanding the techniques that will be
used to avoid damage to public infrastructure.
Thank you for the opportunity to review this notice. We look forward to developing a better understanding of the
proposal and its potential impacts.
Sincerely,
"v"w"
Jo Ann Sorensen
Clear Creek County
Land Use Division
RECEIVED
APR 10 2014
Division of Reclamation,
Mining & Safety
