32. A total of 4.00 acre feet will be returned during each May through October
period for each historically irrigated acre removed from irrigation. A total CU credit of 1.61
acre feet is therefore established for augmentation use.
33. The monthly and annual potential out of priority depletions and replacement
water supplies for both the period of mining and the period after reclamation has been
completed is compared in Table 5. During the period of mining, removal from irrigation of
13.6 historically irrigated acres along with the purchase of 9.8 acre feet of Aspinall Unit
water should be sufficient to replace the out of priority depletions. However, to provide a
cushion for any deviations that may occur, Applicant will remove a total of 15 acres from
irrigation and purchase 12 acre feet of Aspinall Unit water.
34. In dry years, Priority No. 199 in the Biebel Ditch may be subject to a call. In
order to fully replace the out of priority depletions in such a dry year during the mining
period, a total of 24.2 acre feet of the Biebel Priority No. 1 annual CU credits and 0.315 c.f.s.
of the Biebel Priority No. 1 decreed diversion rate will be assigned to the Plan for
Augmentation. This amount of Biebel Priority No. 1 should be sufficient to replace the
potential out -of- priority depletions every month in the May through September period and
will provide at least 35.9 acre feet of annual return flows to Tomichi Creek.
35. During the period after reclamation has been completed, Applicant proposes to
remove 83.3 historically irrigated acres from irrigation and purchase 30 acre feet of Aspinall
Unit water. Removal of 83.3 historically irrigated acres will result in 134.1 acre feet of CU
credits, which is more than sufficient to replace the potential out of priority depletions on a
seasonal basis, but there may be a small shortage in September. Applicant expects purchase
additional Aspinall Unit water to cover any such shortage. In order to fully replace the out of
priority depletions in a dry year (when priority 199 is subject to call), a total of 134.1 acre
feet of the Biebel Priority No. 1 annual CU credits and 1.75 c.f.s. of the Biebel Priority No. 1
Case No. 12CW67, Water Division 4
7
Water
CU
to be
credit
Month
returned
CU
in
in
credit
month
month
in cfs
in ac -ft
in ac -ft
May
1.10
0.0062
0.38
June
1.25
0.0072
0.43
July
0.88
0.0060
0.37
August
0.18
0.0042
0.26
September
0.37
0.0029
0.17
October
10.22
N/A
I N/A
Season
14.00
N/A
11.61
32.
