Eight longwall
panels will be made available by the Spruce Stomp Lease. The longwall panels have
an east west orientation, four on each side of the north mains. In
addition to the eight longwall panels made available by the Spruce Stomp Lease, there
are six east west oriented panels in the existing lease area that remain to be mined.
Right of Entry
The new Spruce Stomp Lease gives BRL the right to mine coal and use the surface of
the lease subject to surface management agencies approval.
Affected Disturbed and Permit Area
The affected area will increase 1,356.3 acres from 5781.6 to 7137.9 acres. The permit
boundary will be expanded to encompass the 1790.2 acre Spruce Stomp lease.
Cultural Resources
A Class III Cultural Resources Inventory and Paleontological Assessment of the Spruce
Stomp Lease is enclosed.
