The records were inspected in the office <br />shared with Peabody Sage Creek Mine. Katryna Snowden of Seneca Coal Company accompanied the inspection <br />in the field. <br />Site had a snowpack of approximately 18 -24 inches. <br />A fresh 3" of snow had fallen during the night. The ground was not frozen and was very muddy under the snow <br />cover. Weather was overcast and snowing on and off during the inspection. <br />AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS — Rule 5.02.4(1): <br />Records were checked in the office at the entrance of Peabody Sage Creek Mine. Records were mostly up <br />to date and in compliance. DRMS inspection reports need to be updated to be complete. A records form <br />accompanies this report. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />Ponds on the western side of the permit area were accessed via snowshoes. Pond 12 was discharging clear <br />effluent. Pond 12 was mostly snow covered with the main channel melting off. No problems were apparent on <br />the side slopes, embankment, or inlet to this pond. <br />What could be seen of YPM 6 -3, YPM 6 -2 and YPM 5 -1 though the snow cover looked like the drainages were <br />functioning appropriately. There was no evidence of ice dams, ditch breaches or the drainages flowing outside of <br />their designed course. <br />Pond 12 A is snow covered and frozen. <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 7 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 3 <br />Page 2 of 5 <br />
