Annual Report — 2013
Henderson Mine and Mill Reclamation Activities
Permit No. M- 1977 -342
Henderson is currently developing a report of five quarters of water quality data for several of the
groundwater wells that were installed in 2012, as a part of the requirements in the Groundwater
Monitoring Plan. This will serve to assess baseline water quality and to establish a monitoring program
and point of compliance (POC) well locations moving forward.
Additionally, a report to assess the low pH measurements in the Mill POC monitoring well MLGW -7 is
being developed and will be submitted by March 31, 2014.
As a result of low pH measurements in the Mine POC monitoring well MNGW -1, a project is being
initiated to install additional monitoring wells to investigate the source of low pH waters and the
adequacy of the existing POC location and well construction.
2.3.7 — Gravel Pit Operations
Approximately 50,000 tons of material was crushed and screened in 2013. This material is being be
utilized for various road building and construction activities at the Henderson Mill site. Another 150,000
tons of material is expected to come from this resource in future years.
3.0 Anticipated 2014 Activities
3.1 Prospecting
Prospecting activities for 2014 are currently being assessed and the required notice(s) of intent will be
submitted to the DRMS once they are established.
3.2 Tailinas Delivery Line
Henderson Mill will be undergoing a project during 2014 to enhance the structural integrity of the
droptower section of the tailing delivery line. This section of the tailing delivery line experienced several
issues during 2013. This project will help to alleviate those issues by providing more structural support
through additional steel and concrete applications. A request for a technical revision will be submitted to
the DRMS prior to this work commencing and will include a copy of the report completed by W.W.
Wheeler & Associates along with a full set of construction drawings.
Reclamation in 2014 will include continued topsoil salvage and stabilization at the Mill. New activity
will continue at the newly approved stockpile location at the head end of Ranger Gulch.
4.0 Financial Warranty
Draft revisions to the Henderson Mine and Mill Financial Assurance (FA) cost estimate were submitted in
2013 for review by DRMS staff. Henderson representatives and DRMS staff discussed the FA cost
estimates in a meeting held on January 28`h, 2014 and adjustments are now being made to the final cost
estimate. Henderson is working to complete the final cost estimate, incorporating DRMS suggestions, by
late March of 2014. The intent is to have this final number available for a hearing before the MLRB
seeking revisions to the Henderson Mine and Mill FA instruments.
Page 4
