Annual Report — 2013 <br />Henderson Mine and Mill Reclamation Activities <br />Permit No. M- 1977 -342 <br />2.3 Other Activities <br />2.3.1— Weed Control <br />For 2013, Henderson Mill received weed treatments in July and September totaling 277 acres. The two <br />treatments covered the following areas: around all shops and mill parking lots, upper pond and roadsides <br />around the pond, the conveyor line, the northern non - industrial areas, which also includes BLM and <br />Forest Service ditches leading into mill property, the pond including the haul road the upper canal road, <br />on and below the dam, the portal, and the rail yard located in Kremmling, Colorado. <br />These areas were treated for the following noxious weeds: Hounds Tongue, Canada Thistle, Musk <br />Thistle, Plumeless Thistle, Bull Thistle, Common Mullein, Yellow Toadflax, chamomile and Oxeye <br />Daisy. <br />The herbicides used for treatement include: Tordon22K, Weedestroy AM40, Milestone VM, Escort XP, <br />and Induce <br />Additionally, all fuel storage locations (gasoline, diesel and propane) were treated with a Throttle XP and <br />Roundup (soil sterilizers to prevent any vegetative growth). <br />2.3.2 — Water Quality Data <br />Water quality data will be provided in the Annual Water Quality Data Report, due to the DRMS, per the <br />approved Groundwater Management Plan (TR -16). <br />2.3.3 — Flood Storage Capacity <br />Analysis of flood storage capacity in the Mill tailings impoundment was carried out by W.W. Wheeler, <br />per DRMS requirements stipulated for Technical Revision JR) 14. This analysis is included as <br />Attachment B. <br />2.3.4 — Interceptor Canal Improvements <br />No significant repairs or modification were made to the Interceptor canal. All intercepted flows are <br />currently being routed through the higher (ultimate - elevation) interceptor canal. The majority of the pre- <br />existing lower canal has been formally closed, backfilled and is currently being inundated as the tailing <br />elevation increases. <br />2.3.5 — 3 Dam Seepwater Line Leak -Down Test <br />The annual 3 -Dam seepwater line leak -down test for 2013, per DRMS requirements stipulated for TR -09, <br />was completed on July I01h. The seepwater lines held static pressures over a 24 -hour period, as designed. <br />See test report in Attachment C. <br />2.3.6 — Hydrogeologic Investigations <br />As a result of the 2012 hydrogeologic investigations and subsequent groundwater quality monitoring, <br />Henderson has initiated a project to install a new extraction wellfield downgradient of 1 -Dam. Henderson <br />will submit a technical revision to DRMS during the design phase of this project. <br />Page 3 <br />
