ameO
• Standard Proctor compaction (ASTM D698);
• Permeability (ASTM D5084, Method D);
• In -place density testing (ASTM D2922);
• Soil description (ASTM D2488);
• Bulk specific gravity (ASTM C127); and
• Point load strength index (ASTM D5731, Method D).
AMEC conducted appropriate tests as required by the specifications for SF, SLF, DCF, and
LDF.
The laboratory test results are summarized in Tables 5 through 8 and are presented in
Appendix H.
4.1.1 Grain Size Distribution
AMEC analyzed the grain size distribution (gradation) of samples of SF, SLF, DCF, and
LDF. The results of gradation analyses are presented in Appendix H -1 and summarized in
Tables 5 through 8.
AMEC performed fifty -five (55) CQA gradations of SF. The testing frequency (approximately
one test per 45,691 cubic yards) exceeded the minimum specified testing frequency of one
test per 50,000 cubic yards. The CQA gradations performed on SF met project
specifications. The SF CQA gradation results met project specifications and are
summarized in Table 5.
AMEC performed six (6) CQA gradations of LDF. The testing frequency (approximately one
test per 18 cubic yards) exceeded the minimum specified testing frequency of one test per
10,000 cubic yards. The LDF CQA gradations met project specifications, and the results are
summarized in Table 6.
AMEC Earth & Environmental, Inc.
2000 S.
